On Friday 25th November David Amess MP was delighted to visit the Royal Opera House’s new site in Thurrock. The organisation has recently opened the Bob and Tamar Manoukian Production Workshop in the High House Production Park in Purfleet. In the new purpose-built Production Workshop craftsmen and technicians create the sets and scenery for the ROH’s Covent Garden stage.

Friend the Member for Guildford (Anne Milton) rightly praised the work of midwives and the Royal College of Midwives. Does she share my concern that locally, there could be a downgrading of community midwives, leading to an overall reduction in the number of midwives in our area?

Like millions across the country, David Amess MP paid tribute this Remembrance Sunday to the fallen and injured, from across the globe, country and his constituency, who made the ultimate sacrifice for freedom. Attending three memorial events in the local area, Mr Amess began with a morning Remembrance Day Service at Southend Cliffs Cenotaph.

David Amess MP joined renowned musicians Paul Jones and Digby Fairweather at Southend's first international jazz festival, ‘Jazz at the Palace’. The event was hosted at the Park Inn Palace Hotel and featured many well known names such as Digby Fairweather who performed with his famous ‘Half Dozen’ and Paul Jones, the lead singer of the popular 60s band Manfred Mann.
