David Amess MP celebrated British Pub Week 2011 by visiting the Red Lion and Crooked Billet Pubs on Tuesday 1st and Friday 4th November respectively. British Pub Week, which ran from Friday 28th October to Sunday 6th November, had a simple yet crucial aim – to unite the nation in celebrating the great British pub, getting as many people as possible to see all that it can offer.
Pubs are the finest and most unique of our great British institutions, and cannot be matched for their historical, cultural and social importance. Mr Amess believes we must protect our pubs, celebrate them, and ensure they can continue to thrive.
Throughout British Pub Week, pubs across Britain invited customers, old and new, to join them for special events, special offers and special experiences that only their local pub could provide.
As a local MP, and a supporter of local pubs, Mr Amess has enthusiastically supported British Pub Week, and he hopes that it was a big success nationally and locally, here in our area.
