Despite the unseasonably warm weather for October, David Amess MP joined E-ON at a Parliamentary Reception this week to discuss affordable energy for constituents this winter. The ‘Getting Ready for Winter’ event was attended by MPs who were interested in talking with E-ON colleagues about the support they provide for customers on a daily basis and the company’s plan to supply reliable and cheap energy to customers when the cold weather sets in.

David Amess, Member of Parliament for Southend West, received a full apology from the Evening Echo after the paper printed a derogatory and misleading story at the end of last year. The story was written following a speech made by Mr Amess in the Chamber of the House of Commons, in which the Southend West MP raised concerns that many local residents had about reduced bus subsidies.

David Amess MP joined colleagues and Football stars from the Premier League and the Football League to celebrate the fifth anniversary of the “Kickz” programme. Kickz sees Premier League clubs - along with more in the Football League - work with their local police forces to engage with young people in some of the most disadvantaged areas of the country.

David Amess MP celebrated ‘World School Milk Day 2011 by visiting pupils and staff at Chalkwell Hall Infants School in Westcliff-on-Sea this Monday.

Chalkwell Hall was one of thousands of schools across more than 40 countries taking part in celebrations dedicated to World School Milk Day this month. The day encourages children to drink milk and aims to educate them about the benefits of milk.
