Sir David marks Cancer charity’s 50th anniversary

Leukaemia Care is a UK-based charity which this year celebrates its 50th anniversary. On Wednesday 11th September, Southend West MP Sir David Amess met with charity representatives in Parliament to mark the occasion.  

Southend West MP backs British farming

The National Farmers Union hosted an event in Parliament on Wednesday 11th September. Sir David Amess, Member of Parliament for Southend West, attended to speak with union representatives about climate change, animal welfare and Brexit.  

Sir David attends MacMillan coffee morning

Since MacMillan Cancer Support first commenced the World’s Biggest Coffee Morning project in 1991, over £190 million has been raised for the charity. On Friday 6th September, Sir David Amess was delighted to attend one coffee morning at an Assisted Home in Kingswood Chase.  

Sir David encourages local contributions to national contest

On 9th September, the annual ‘Film the House’ competition was launched in Parliament. Today, Sir David Amess is calling on all student (under 16 years old) and independent filmmakers in Southend West to consider entering the competition.

Essex MPs meet Chief Constable

On Wednesday 4th September, Sir David Amess was joined by a number of Essex MPs to meet with the County’s Chief Constable, Ben-Julian Harrington: also at the meeting was Deputy Police, Fire and Crime Commissioner Jane Gardner.
