Sir David was honoured to visit the Southend and District Reform Synagogue on Friday 17th August to witness Della Carr hand over a cheque for £3,100 to Fair Havens Hospice.

Success for Sir David's Bill

Sir David introduced the Specialist Printing and Materials (Offences) Act to Parliament in March 2015. The Bill created a new offence of knowingly providing specialist printing equipment to criminals who use it to forge identify papers, birth certificates and other documents.

Dogs steal the Show for Carnival Week

The Carnival Dog Show took place in Priory Park on Sunday and Sir David Amess joined owners, judges and volunteers to set tails wagging.

Getting everyone to ‘sit and stay’ was a challenge but in the end the best dogs won.

Ringing the changes at Southend Blind Welfare Fete

Sir David Amess called in to Elkington House on Saturday to join residents at the annual Southend Blind Welfare Garden Fete. Visitors were entertained by the Southend Operatic and Dramatic Society and the Old Chimers bell-ringers.

MP Attends Local Shabbat Service to Honour Volunteer

On Saturday 4th August, Sir David visited Southend and District Reform Synagogue to attend a special Shabbat service. The service was held to honour Della Carr for her 40 years of volunteering at Reform Synagogues across the UK.

Leigh Lions Hold Mid-Summer Sports Day & Fun Festival

The Leigh Lions held their annual mid-summer sports day and fun festival at King John School on Saturday 28th July.

Sir David Joins Local Constituent to Celebrate Her 103rd Birthday

On Friday 27th July, Sir David joined one of his constituents to celebrate their 103rd birthday. Cathleen Mansfield, who resides at Catherine Miller House in Leigh-on-Sea, turned 103 the day before and the MP for Southend West was delighted to congratulate her special birthday.
