Sir David's New Year Message

2019 has been a politically turbulent year. Parliament did not function properly as a result of the government having no majority. The last two and a half years have been wasted rehashing endless arguments about Brexit, when we should have got on and honoured the referendum result.

Sir David re-elected as Member of Parliament for Southend West

Just after 02:00 on the morning of Friday 13th December, it was announced that Sir David had been returned as the Southend West MP with an increased majority.  

Sir David received 27,555 votes which represented 59.2% vote share. Locally, there was a turnout of 67.4%.  

Sir David plants donated tree in local park

Sir David Amess, MP for Southend West, was joined by the Mayor and Mayoress of Southend, along with local Conservative Councillors, as he planted a tree in Chalkwell Park.  

Sir David opens Air Ambulance charity shop

On Friday 18th October, Southend West MP Sir David Amess joined with local dignitaries, including the Lord Lieutenant of Essex, to open a new charity shop on Rayleigh Road.  

Foreign Secretary addresses local Conservatives

Following an invite from Sir David Amess, Foreign Secretary The Rt Hon Dominic Raab MP visited Southend on Thursday 17th October to address local Conservative supporters at the Southend West Conservative Association Annual Dinner.
