On Wednesday 29th September, Sir David Amess, MP for Southend West, visited Chalkwell Hall Junior School and Prince Avenue Academy and Nursery to celebrate the benefits of school milk programmes on World School Milk Day.
Milk is excellent as a mid-morning drink. It provides a nutritional boost and keeps children hydrated between breakfast and lunch, helping them to concentrate and learn. Milk helps fuel children’s potential by providing an energy boost at mid-morning break, refuelling the body until lunch, hydrating children to aid their concentration and attention in class and providing a unique powerhouse of nutrients essential for strong healthy teeth and bones.
Following his visits Sir David said, “I was delighted to visit Chalkwell Hall Junior School and Prince Avenue Academy and Nursery today to celebrate School Milk Day. It was wonderful to see the children so happy to be back in the classroom and I could not have been more impressed with the hard work of the staff. Now that children are back in school, milk is a vital way of making sure they get the very best out of the brilliant education these schools will give them.”
