On Tuesday 21 September, Sir David Amess visited Westcliff High School for Girls as the Princess Royal opened the new East Wing. Sir David and Her Royal Highness had a tour of the new building and spoke to students and staff about what they most enjoy about their school.
The new wing will be primarily used to enhance the school’s engineering, design, technology and art facilities and encourage the children to be more creative.
Sir David said “the new building is fantastic and further shows the rest of the country how exceptional our schools really are. It was wonderful welcoming Her Royal Highness to Southend which is soon to become a city. She is a magnificent lady, and it was an honour to see her open the new East Wing at Westcliff High School for Girls”.
