On Thursday 13th July, Sir David Amess MP asked the Leader of the House of Commons, Rt Hon Andrea Leadsom MP, for a debate on the laws surrounding illegal caravanning sites during Business of the House questions.
Over the past two weeks, Sir David has been chairing debates in the House of Commons as Deputy Speaker. Since the new Parliament has required the re-election of the Speaker and Deputy Speakers of the House, the MP for Southend West was asked to stand in for a number of Commons proceedings.
Following Sir David’s promise throughout his general election campaign to ensure that Southend’s A&E is not downgraded, the MP for Southend West has now secured a debate on the Future of Southend A&E to raise the issue in Parliament.
