
On Monday 13 September, Sir David Amess, Member of Parliament for Southend West, attended the celebratory reception for our Paralympians. Sir David is the Chairman of the All-Party Parliamentary Group for the Olympic and Paralympic Games and was delighted to join the Chief Executive of Channel 4 in welcoming our athletes home from the Paralympics.
Team GB came second in the Paralympics this year in Tokyo with a total of 124 medals including 41 gold medals.
Sir David said “all our athletes were extraordinary at the Paralympics in Tokyo. A huge congratulations to our medal winners and everyone who took part. You have all made us proud and represented our country so well”.
