I am so very sorry to learn of the death of the Duke of Edinburgh. Our nation has much to thank him for in terms of the support which he has steadfastly given to our Queen.

He has led an extraordinary life and achieved so much. I had the good fortune to meet the Duke of Edinburgh on a number of occasions. He was a class act and I very much shared his sense of humour.

He has been a constant in all of our lives, but our loss is nothing compared to that of The Queen and her family. He most certainly will never be forgotten. May he now rest in peace.

My heart goes out to The Queen and her children.
