On Thursday 10 June, Sir David attended the virtual Youth Without Limits event to celebrate what would have been the Duke of Edinburgh’s 100th birthday. Prince Edward, the Earl of Wessex, spoke at the event about the wonderful legacy his father built.

The event was hosted by young people who are, and have been, involved in the Duke of Edinburgh award programme which has changed the lives of so many people. The award scheme is a fitting legacy for the Duke of Edinburgh as he helped so many young people overcome issues and problems and he supported them for their adult life.

Sir David commented after the event:

I have always been a supporter of the Duke of Edinburgh award scheme as it teaches young people many important skills for later life they may not learn at school. The Duke of Edinburgh was a fantastic man who inspired so many people and the event was a fitting celebration of his life on what would have been his 100th birthday.
