Leigh-on-Sea Town Council hosted an evening of carols on Saturday 10th December. The event, which took place on Strand Wharf, featured performances by the Year 7 Choir from Belfairs Academy who were supported by the Salvation Army Band. Sir David was pleased to be invited, he said:

“As Christmas draws closer it is always a delight to hear everyone singing well-known carols especially with the support of a band. Leigh Town Council did a superb job organising this event and I must congratulate the choir from Belfairs Academy and the Salvation Army for their warming performances”
