British Pub Week, running from Saturday 30th October to Saturday 6th November 2010 has a simple yet crucial aim - to unite the nation in celebrating the great British pub and getting as many people as possible to see all that it has to offer.
Pubs are the finest and most unique of our great British institutions. No other can match the pub for its historical, cultural and social importance. We must protect our pubs, celebrate them and ensure they can continue to thrive.
Throughout British Pub Week, pubs across Britain will be inviting customers, old and new, to join them for special events, special offers and special experiences that only their local pub can provide.
Mr Amess, a long-standing supporter of local pubs, is supporting British Pub Week and hopes it will be a big success nationally and locally.
Any pubs wishing to get involved should look at the website, www.britishpubweek.org.uk to find out more about it.
