On Wednesday 15th March Sir David Amess, MP for Southend West, attended a parliamentary reception held by Mondeléz International, the multinational confectionery, food and beverage company. The event highlighted the company’s current and future investment in the UK as well as measures it is taking to replace sugar in chocolate. Mondeléz currently has 9 locations in the UK including 5 manufacturing sites and a global R&D and science centre. Since 2010 over £200m has been invested in manufacturing and R&D in the UK. Sir David was glad to hear how the UK has the largest R&D footprint from Mondeléz outside North America and how the company is continuing to create jobs in the UK.
