On Wednesday 28th October, The Butterfly Garden Tea Party took place on the Westminster Terrace at the House of Commons.
The Butterfly Garden is an educational gardening and land skills project that was launched by Chris Evans in 2002. It is open to all students with learning difficulties, disabilities and/or behaviour problems. The garden is currently worked by over 60 students per week from colleges of further education, the Mental Health Service, occupational therapy units and residential care homes.
On Wednesday, 100 students were selected to host the Tea Party in Westminster, where they spoke to MP’s and other guests about their experiences as part of The Butterfly Garden.
Sir David said after the event: “The Butterfly Garden is a truly remarkable project and I thoroughly enjoyed hearing about it directly from some of the wonderful young students who are involved in its success.”
