
Sir David attended the launch of the British Lung Foundation’s new policy report on idiopathic pulmonary fibrosis (IPF) at the House of Commons on Wednesday, 25th February.
IPF is a fatal lung disease that causes scarring of the lungs and it is estimated that it kills around 5,000 people per year in the UK.
The British Lung Foundation offer help and support through their helpline and Breathe Easy groups. They also fund vital research into new research and campaign for positive change in the nation’s lung health.
Mr Amess commented: “The British Lung Foundation is an incredible organisation and their new policy report on IPF is an important step towards improving the results of the fight against this disease.”
