The All-Party Parliamentary Group on Marine Energy & Tidal Lagoons held a showcase event in Parliament on Wednesday 18th July to display the best of UK industry in the sector.

Sir David Amess, MP for Southend West, was delighted to attend the event to hear more from representatives of UK companies leading the industry’s expansion. The local MP learnt how innovation and cost reduction are key to driving the sector forward.

Speaking at the event, Sir David said: “The marine energy industry more than meets the BEIS criteria of achieving maximum carbon reduction, showing a clear cost reduction pathway. I am delighted that the UK is a world-leader in this sector and I hope that we can continue to drive this industry forward.”
