Southend Vox put on a wonderful performance Saturday 2 July 2011 with the theme “Best of British”. The collection of songs were in aid of the British Heart Foundation. David Amess, Member of Parliament for Southend West joined many others to support the adult community choir of talented and enthusiastic members. Southend Vox’s dynamic mix of old and young British hits captivated the crowd and had them dancing and singing in their seats.
Since the choir started in January 2009 it has reached 40 members with levels of musical experience from beginner to accomplished chorister. Southend Vox is a thriving group of singers, all working together and supportive of one another and local charities are of great importance to the group when considering their performances. Supporting the British Heart Foundation, a charity organization that funds research, promotes awareness and provides education and care of heart diseases was the focus of Saturday night’s performance.
The combination of musical talent and supporting local charity made for an enjoyable evening.
