On Saturday 4th July, Sir David attended a Gala Ball in celebration of the 2nd Anniversary of The Arlington.
The Arlington was formerly known as ‘The Arlington Rooms’ before William Verner and his wife Susan reinvented the magnificent building into the glamorous 1920’s style venue that it is today. It is 2 years since that incredible revival took place and to celebrate the history of the building, as well as its recent success, a Gala Ball was held.
The Arlington has been restored to its former glory. It was first built during the roaring 20’s ‘Art Deco’ and ‘Jazz’ era, originally as a music hall, where local residents could dance and listen to live music, and as a result of the recent restoration, it is once again used for the same purpose almost a century later.
Sir David said: “The Arlington is a wonderful facility and I am so pleased to see it thriving once again. William and Susan have worked incredibly hard to revive the venue and I am very proud to have a building with such an interesting history within my constituency. It was very fitting to celebrate the 2nd Anniversary with a Gala Ball and I hope for many more successful years in the future.”
