Sir David attended an event hosted by The Guide Dogs for the Blind Association on Wednesday 16th November. The reception focused on the association’s campaign to protect guide dog owners from being charged unfair fees when taking their companions with them in taxis or even being rejected service. MPs including Sir David were urged to back the Disability Equality Training Bill which aims to ensure that all taxi and minicab drivers receive disability training. As a dog lover himself, Sir David was keen to speak to other supporters of the campaign and hear their stories. The bill could make a huge difference to disabled people that rely on taxis and minicabs to lead independent lives.
