Local MP visits West Leigh Junior School

Sir David Amess MP recently visited West Leigh Junior School to get a glimpse into how the schools functions and to see what progress the pupils are making. On Monday 30th January the MP for Southend West was invited to look around by Executive Headteacher Mrs C.

Service to commemorate completion of work on local church

Wesley Methodist Church in Leigh-on-Sea held a service on Saturday 28th January to commemorate the completion of building work on its premises. Sir David Amess, MP for Southend West, attended the service and was delighted to see the completed work on the church. 

Local MP presses for debate in the Commons on Uber

Speaking in the House of Commons on Thursday 26th January, Sir David Amess MP pressed the Leader of the House, The Rt Hon David Lidington MP, to secure a debate on regulations surrounding the operation of Uber.

Sir David Amess, MP for Southend West, says 2017 could be the year for Southend charities to help get a special project off the ground by applying for a share of a £6 million funding pot, raised by players of the People’s Postcode Lottery.


Southend West MP attends CFI parliamentary reception

Conservative Friends of Israel (CFI) held a parliamentary reception on Tuesday 24th January in the Terrace Pavilion. Sir David Amess MP attended the event to show his support for the group and the work it does.
