On Wednesday 28th December, Sir David Amess MP joined the British Toy & Hobby Association’s annual Parliamentary reception. The organisation met with MPs to highlight the importance of toy safety as part of their ‘Don’t toy with children’s safety’ campaign.
The British Toy & Hobby Association brought policy makers together to raise awareness of the significant number of unsafe toys flooding the UK market, and show how best to work together to product children from these dangerous goods. An increasing number of unsafe, counterfeit and copycat toys are being placed on the UK market and are putting child safety at risk.
At the event, Sir David selected a number of local charities to receive toys for Christmas from the BTHA, including children’s hospice Little Havens and Southend Hospital’s Children’s Ward.
