Southend West MP joins National Citizen Service

On Monday 22nd July, Sir David was delighted to visit a group of young people who are taking part in the National Citizen Service.

Founded in 2011, the NCS programme is open to 15-17 year olds and is separated into four distinct parts; each of which seek to contribute to the young people’s self-confidence, teamwork skills and social awareness. The group of young people that Sir David visited have already completed the ‘Adventure’ and ‘Discovery’ portions of their programme and have now commenced their ‘Social Action’ work. The group are hoping to undertake environmental work

Following the event, Sir David said “It has been very interesting to meet with some of the young people taking part in this year’s NCS programme. I would like to thank all of the participants, and the staff, for their hard work in the community.”
