Southend West MP joins in with local Jazz event

On the evening of Monday 2nd September, Sir David Amess attended the Jazz Night at The Oakwood pub on Rayleigh Road. 

The jazz quartet, led by Ron Spack, regularly perform at events in the local area and their display at The Oakwood is just one of the engagements in their busy calendar. The group demonstrated their unmatched skill and genuine passion for jazz music – a genre which dates back over 100 years. The gathered audience were treated to ensemble playing, solos and improvisation.  

Sir David said “It has been an absolute joy to come and listen to such fine jazz musicians. We are so lucky in South Essex to have outstanding performers and I would encourage local residents to attend local live music events whenever they get chance.”
