Southend MP attends Queen’s Speech

After the election on 12th December, the Queen opened Parliament last Thursday with a speech highlighting the Government’s priorities and bold domestic agenda for the months ahead following the Conservative’s election success.

The speech promised to deliver on the ‘people’s priorities’ including; securing Britain’s exit from the European Union, increased funding for the National Health Service, new laws to toughen up on criminal justice and plans to protect our environment.

Following the speech Sir David said “It was an honour to be in attendance when the Queen opened Parliament last Thursday. I welcome the priorities laid out by the government and look forward to Parliament working together to get these things done after we leave the EU.”
