Sir David welcomes Jack Petchey award winners to Parliament

On Monday 9th September, Southend West MP Sir David Amess welcomed a group of Jack Petchey Foundation award winners to Parliament.  

The Jack Petchey Foundation was set up to celebrate and inspire young people across London and Essex. The Award scheme is run in 1600 youth clubs and secondary school and exists to recognise the outstanding achievements of 11-25 year olds. Winners from Cecil Jones Academy, Southchurch High School and young people from Achievement Through Football. Following a tour of Parliament, the young people took part in a Question and Answer session with Sir David.  

After the event, Sir David said “It has been a pleasure to meet the award winners today and recognise their exceptional achievements. The Jack Petchey Foundation has raised millions of pounds for young people in Essex and I very much look forward to meeting more winners in the future.”
