On Monday 10th February, the MP for Southend West met with Minister for Transport, Chris Heaton-Harris MP, to discuss constituents’ concerns regarding the service provided by c2c. In this meeting he raised the issues of ticketing, including machines and smartcards, diversions to Liverpool Street and the failure of c2c to address constituents’ concerns in a satisfactory manner. The meeting follows an increase in complaints to Sir David from people who use the line, reporting a deterioration in the service over recent months.
After the meeting Sir David said “As a regular commuter myself I appreciate the frustrations of local people travelling on the c2c line. I was pleased to meet with the Transport Minister this afternoon and I look forward to working with him to get the service back to the high standard that it once was.”
