Sir David Amess, MP for Southend West and Chair of the All-Party Parliamentary Group on Liver Health, met with the Alcohol Health Alliance at Conservative Party Conference.
On Tuesday 1st October, Sir David spoke with representatives of the AHA to discuss the dangers of alcohol. During the discussion, the AHA explained some of the current nationwide statistics on alcohol-related deaths and Sir David detailed some of the work presently being undertaken by the APPG.
Sir David said “In my role as Chair of the Liver Health APPG, I am fully aware of the risk to health that alcohol can be. I was glad to meet with industry experts to discuss ways in which we can support individuals with health challenges, and improve education on the subject.”
