On 9th September, the annual ‘Film the House’ competition was launched in Parliament. Today, Sir David Amess is calling on all student (under 16 years old) and independent filmmakers in Southend West to consider entering the competition.
The annual event awards six prizes to creatives and looks to put the winners in direct contact with some of the biggest names in the industry. The Executive Producer of House of Cards and the Director of The Graham Norton Show have both expressed their full support for this competition: the impressive list of sponsors – including Sky, Disney, Lionsgate and Warner Bros – also highlights the value of this event.
Sir David said “Southend West is a hub of creativity. The Film the House competition is an outstanding opportunity for student and independent filmmakers to showcase their work and gain access to some of the most influential organisations in the business. Entries can be submitted until 19th December, so I would encourage anyone who is interested to look on the competition’s website for more information.”
