On Thursday 9th April, Sir David Amess, MP for Southend West, donated Easter Eggs to the children being treated on Southend Hospital’s Neptune Ward. The delivery of Easter Eggs to Southend Hospital is an annual tradition, but due to the Coronavirus outbreak and in light of Government advice regarding social distancing, Sir David was unable to deliver them to the ward in person this year.
Sir David said, “I was delighted to be able to donate these Easter Eggs to the Neptune Ward. Unfortunately, due to the current national crisis I am not able to visit the children personally as it is essential that Government guidance is taken seriously. I would still like to send my best wishes for a very happy Easter to all the patients at Southend Hospital and extend my huge gratitude to all the staff and volunteers who are working so hard under very difficult circumstances.”
