Southend West MP, Sir David Amess recently met with the Disability Benefits Consortium – a group representing 80 national disability organisations.
Parliamentarians heard how the current structure of the welfare system disadvantages people with multiple disabilities. 50 people who are living with a variety of conditions contributed to the report that was launched at the Parliamentary event.
Sir David said “The Disability Benefits Consortium does vital work in supporting people with disabilities. The report that has been published is very detailed and I trust that the Government will take note of the proposals that are made.”
