Sir David Amess called in to support the Southend Association of Voluntary Services for the launch of ‘Volunteering-on-Sea’, an initiative aimed at persuading more local young people to volunteer. Volunteering-on-Sea has been created by young people and will be delivered by them so they can explore and share the heritage of volunteering in Southend.
Sir David said:
“The young people of Southend have always had a proud history of volunteering. I hope that this initiative will encourage a whole new generation of willing, caring young volunteers to give something back to their community. I applaud SAVS for their hard work in making this event happen.”
