Proms in the Priory a roaring success

On Saturday 7th September, Southend West MP, Sir David Amess was delighted to attend ‘Proms in the Priory’.

The event, hosted by the Mayor and Mayoress, was raising money for the Mayor’s charity – Southend RNLI. Throughout the evening, music was presented in the style of ‘last night of the proms’ - tunes included Jerusalem, Land of Hope and Glory and Rule Britannia. Sir David said “It has been a pleasure for me to listen to this outstanding concert. There is so much talent in our local community, and I cannot think of a better reason to share those talents than to raise money for the RNLI. Congratulations to everyone involved in tonight's event.”
