On 23rd October, David Amess joined families of missing people to pledge his support for the Missing People’s Missing Rights campaign, which focuses on seeking legislative support for families fighting to resolve their missing loved-one’s affairs.
Also in attendance were Peter Lawrence, whose daughter Claudia is missing, and Claire Chandler, whose partner disappeared in February 2011. The charity, Missing People, campaigns for families to be provided with emotional support, to ensure they know that everything possible is being done to find their loved ones.
David Amess MP said “It’s really wonderful to see the work of this charity in practise, and how they have helped so many affected families across the UK; it’s great to know we have this service available to us in Southend. It is a thoroughly worthwhile cause and today was a perfect demonstration of the good they do”.
