On Wednesday 5th August David Amess, Member of Parliament for Southend West joined his colleagues James Duddridge, MP for Southend East and Mark Francois, MP for Rayleigh in lending his support to the Southend Taxi Drivers’ Fund for Children annual day out.
Mr Amess joined in the day’s events at Belchamps Activity Centre, Hawkwell. A wide variety of activities were provided for the children ranging from donkey rides to a rifle range. The children, aged 5-9 years old were encouraged to try rock climbing and abseiling and constant music kept the children entertained throughout the day.
Since 1972 the Southend Taxi Drivers’ Charity Fund for Children has provided parties and events for needy and disabled children and those from broken homes. The charity provides both financial support and physical activities like its annual day out for the children of Southend.
