David Amess MP speaks out for householders who protect themselves from intruders

Today Southend West MP David Amess spoke in the House of Commons on behalf of householders who have used force in cases of burglary. Speaking out for the right of people to protect themselves, their families and their property from intruders, Mr Amess told the Solicitor General that “hardly a week goes by without some sort of report of a victim of burglary bizarrely being prosecuted.” He added that “there is certainly a feeling of great injustice in the country” and urged the Solicitor General to give clearer guidance to the Crown Prosecution Service when it considers prosecution.
