David Amess MP helps to launch the new campaign from the Young People's Trust for the Environment

Today, David Amess MP attended a Parliamentary Reception to celebrate the launch of the Young People’s Trust for the Environment’s new campaign. ‘Roots to Green Living’. The new scheme will provide eight schools in the Bristol/Bath and NE Somerset area with regular support from a YPTE Education Officer, who will work with them over the course of three years to develop environmental education opportunities within the school grounds and help to embed environmental learning into the schools’ curricula.

The event was kindly sponsored by Jessica Morden MP and was also attended by Dermot O’Leary, presenter of ITV’s ‘X-Factor’. As a president of the Young People’s Trust for the Environment Dermot O’Leary was keen to show his support for the new scheme. Through their work the Young People’s Trust hopes to raise awareness amongst young people of the current environmental issues and to educate them about the work being done to combat these environmental problems.
