David Amess MP celebrates the Bangla Summer Fete

On the morning of Monday 10th August David Amess, Member of Parliament for Southend West joined with organisers and members of the Southend Peace Forum in celebrating their Bangla Summer Fete.

 

The event was held at Blenheim Primary School, Leigh-on-Sea and planned by the Southend Peace Forum, an organisation founded and run by members of the Bangladeshi community. This first Bangla Fete was held in order to promote the Bangladeshi culture to the wider community and promote harmonious relations within Southend against a backdrop of enjoyment and entertainment.

 

The Bangla Fete was a resounding success and people from across Southend gathered to enjoy sports activities, bouncy castles, food stalls, music and raffles throughout the course of the day
