David Amess MP and the Rt Hon Mark Francois played host last night to friends, family, colleagues and even the Prime Minister at an event to mark the 1992 General Election Victory in Basildon. Starting in the prestigious Boothroyd Room, guests were treated to a few warm words from the Prime Minister, who commented on Mr Amess’ ‘eternal youth’ and recalled his memories of that election at Conservative Central Headquarters. Original footage of the 1992 election was then shown, including the famous Basildon count, after which guests were invited back to Mr Amess’ office for a glass of champagne. The event also saw the launch of Mr Amess’ memoires about the 1992 Election entitled ‘Against All Odds’.
The event was a great success and Mr Amess would like to thank everyone who attended for making it such a wonderful celebration.
