Southend West MP joins in Tamil New Year Celebrations

Sir David Amess joined in the celebrations of the Tamil New Years and Harvest festival at a special event on Sunday 13th January. Organised by the Southend Tamil Association, the event brought together communities to celebrate the Pongal festival.

Southend West MP speaks in Christmas Adjournment Debate

As the House of Commons rose for the Christmas recess, Sir David spoke in the final debate in Parliament before the New Year. In the annual Christmas Adjournment debate on Thursday 20th December, Sir David raised a variety of local and national issues.

Southend West MP helps open doors for guide dog owners this Christmas

Sir David Amess MP attended an event in Parliament run by the charity Guide Dogs to raise awareness of discrimination against guide dog owners. The MP for Southend West heard from guide dog owners about the impact of being turned away by businesses because of their dog.

Sir David Amess spreads festive cheer with annual Christmas visits

On Friday 14th December, the Southend West MP spread joined in the festivities across the constituency with his annual Christmas visits. Starting the day dressed as Santa Claus, the MP surprised the children at Southend Hospital Children’s Ward and Fair Havens Hospice with presents and toys.
