On Tuesday 24th April, Sir David Amess MP met with Royal Navy Officers and representatives from the APPG for the Polar Regions to hear about the RRS Sir David Attenborough, Britain’s new polar research ship.

Southend West District Scouts Hold Annual Renewal of Promise

Southend West Scout district held their annual renewal of promise on Sunday 22nd April.


Local MP Sir David Amess attended the service to see young people and adults I scouting come together from Leigh-on-Sea, Westcliff, Eastwood and Southend to renew their promise.


Sir David attends St. George’s Day Service

On Sunday 22nd April, Sir David attended the St George’s Day Service alongside the Mayor of Southend, Fay Evans. The MP for Southend West was delighted to do the second reading during the service which was held at St John the Baptist Town Centre Church in Southend.

Orpheus Singers Hold 10th Anniversary Reunion Concert

The Orpheus Singers held a 10th Anniversary Reunion concert with past and present choir members on Saturday 21st April. The concert, which took place at Westcliff High School for Boys, was in support of the Southend Hospital Charitable Trust’s For Wards Appeal.

MP attends Chalkwell Bowls Club Opening Drive

Sir David Amess MP visited Chalkwell Bowling Club on Saturday 21st April for their Opening Drive. The MP for Southend West was joined by local councillors Nigel Folkard and Stephen Habermel at the club and was delighted to be given the first bowl.

Eastwood Park Bowls Club Celebrate Opening Drive

Eastwood Park Bowls Club in Leigh-on-Sea celebrated their Opening Drive on Saturday 21st April with Sir David Amess MP. Having opened the outdoor bowls at the club in 2017, the MP for Southend West was delighted to return again this year and provide a bottle for the charity spyder.
