On Wednesday 9th May the All-Party Parliamentary Group on Parkinson’s launched their new report ‘Mental health matters too – Improving mental health services for people with Parkinson’s who experience anxiety and depression’.

 

People’s Postcode Lottery Supports Good Causes in Southend West

MP for Southend West, Sir David Amess, was delighted to discover local charities in the constituency have benefitted from funds raised by players of People’s Postcode Lottery at a recent parliamentary reception held by the society lottery operator in Westminster.

 

Sir David meets with Turkey Delegation on visit to UK Parliament

On Tuesday 8th May, Sir David met a delegation of business people from Turkey during their visit to Parliament. As Vice-Chair of the All-Party Parliamentary Group on British Turks and Kurds, the MP for Southend West met the group to discuss improving business links between the UK and Turkey.

Former WHSG Head Celebrates 90th Birthday

Local MP Sir David Amess joined Nancy Howard to celebrate her birthday on Sunday 6th May at Iveagh Hall in Leigh-on-Sea. Nancy, a former Headteacher at Westcliff High School for Girls, was also joined by family and friends on the day to mark her special occasion.

Sir David asks Housing Minister about New Home being built

In the House of Commons chamber on Monday 30th April, Southend West MP Sir David Amess asked Housing Minister Dominic Raab about the Government’s plans to deliver more homes.

Supporting a Nature Recovery Network

Sir David pledged his support for the creation of a Nature Recovery Network this week. A well-designed network of places for nature which links up green spaces and protected areas in our towns, cities and countryside would have positive benefits for both people and our wildlife.
