Sir David Amess MP joins Coastguard on watch

The Southend West MP joined National Coastwatch volunteers on shift at the Shoeburyness Watch Station on 2nd November. The Watch Station covers the Thames Estuary and the Shoeburyness East Beach area, and helps ensure the safety of all users of the coast.

 

Everyone should be ‘diabetes aware’ says Sir David Amess MP

The Southend West MP marked Diabetes Awareness Day 2018 by highlighting the importance of everyone knowing their diabetes risk and how to prevent it. On Wednesday 31st October, Sir David himself took the opportunity to have his own diabetes risk factors checked through blood sugar testing.

MPs gather to raise awareness of Haemochromatosis

On Wednesday 31st October, Sir David Amess MP joined fellow MPs at an event in the House of Commons to raise awareness of Haemochromatosis. The event, organised by the charity Haemochromastosis UK, also saw the launch of a new report detailing the impact of living with the condition

Diwali Celebrations in Parliament

Sir David Amess MP joined in the festivities at the 16th annual Diwali Celebrations in the House of Commons. The event on Wednesday 31st October was attended by representatives of over 40 Indian organisations and community leaders from eight religious backgrounds.

 

Sir David Amess MP peddles for Poppy Appeal

On Wednesday 31st October, the MP participated in a static bike ride with the Royal British Legion. The 12-hour bike ride gave MP’s the chance to cycle as far as they could in five minutes to raise money for the Central Parliamentary Poppy Appeal.
